MTN Ghana Foundation reminds prospective Bright Scholarship applicants of May 31, 2026 deadline for submission of applications
29/05/26
Accra, May 29, 2026 – The MTN Ghana Foundation has announced that applications for its 2026 Bright Scholarship programme will close on May 31, 2026.
Eligible applicants who meet all the requirements are encouraged to submit their applications via the scholarship portal at scholarship.mtn.com.gh before the deadline.
The MTN Bright Scholarship is open to continuing students pursuing a first degree at any public tertiary institution, as well as students enrolled in vocational and technical skills training programmes. Applicants must be Ghanaian, demonstrate good conduct, and have an excellent academic record.
Teachers pursuing first degrees and postgraduate degrees in STEM programmes are also to note the application deadline.
The MTN Bright Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, stipend for books, and a device for each beneficiary.
Commenting on the scholarship, Adwoa Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, said it is deeply fulfilling to see young people realise their dreams that may otherwise have been cut short without MTN’s intervention. She added that, as a responsible organisation committed to improving lives, MTN will continue to do more to ensure everyone benefits from the opportunities of a modern, connected life.
“Having doubled the number of beneficiaries for two years now in response to growing need, we are confident that this intervention will ease the financial burden on deserving students and help reduce the number of students who drop out of school due to financial constraints,” she said.
The MTN Bright Scholarship was launched in 2018 in fulfilment of a commitment MTN made to Ghanaians during the commemoration of its 20th anniversary in 2016. As part of that commitment, MTN, through the MTN Ghana Foundation, pledged to award 300 scholarships over three years. Following the programme’s impact during its first phase, the Foundation approved its renewal in 2021 as part of MTN’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
