TERMS AND CONDITIONS (ADWUMAPA)

Definitions

i. Adwumapa is a prepaid mobile service that combines connectivity services with women empowerment initiatives; ensuring women in business have the necessary tools and support needed to succeed. MTN in partnership with strategic collaborators is offering a comprehensive solution for Ghanaian women in business. This initiative strengthens women’s access to essential mobile services and fosters a thriving community of empowered female business owners and entrepreneurs.
ii. Adwumapa Bundle refers to the weekly and monthly mobile package offer that consists of a voice, data, SMS, lifestyle data, Insurance cover and doctor on call minutes as a value-added service.
iii. Ayo Intermediaries shall mean the third-party providing the insurance cover included in the Adwumapa Bundle.
iv. Community means Adwumapa Bundle Subscribers that form a network of women in business (business owners, entrepreneurs and online vendors) that consistently purchase the Adwumapa Bundle where they can unlock additional mobile service benefits and support for growing their business.
v. Doctor On Call refers to the service that provides Subscribers with ten (10) or forty (40) minutes of consultation time with a medical doctor.
vi. Onnet calls refers to calls made to only MTN numbers.
vii. Prepaid Mobile Service refers to a bundle service.
viii. Service Provider refers to Scancom PLC.
ix. Subscriber means a female business owner, entrepreneur or online vendor that has purchased an Adwumapa Bundle

Introduction

Services provided under the Adwumapa Bundle

  1. Stay Connected

Special Women only Bundle proposition.

  • Weekly and monthly offers with voice, data and SMS accessible via *5060#.
  • Lifestyle offer which is an allocation of data specifically for social media applications such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, X and WeChat.
  • Free MTN to MTN calls on Mondays.
  • 150MB bonus data for every Adwumapa Bundle purchase.
  • Insurance cover of up to Eight thousand, two hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis (GHS 8,250.00) powered by Ayo Intermediaries.
  • Set up MobileMoney merchant accounts for Subscribers.

2. Access To Market

  • Adwumapa Marketplace –Offering members of the Community the opportunity to participate in SME Fairs and pop-up shops during MTN Business programmes and events throughout the year.
  • Members of the Community to feature on MTN Platforms during business events.

3. Access To Capital

  • Access to W-Power Loans from Access Bank at lower than standard bank interest rates.
  • Bridge in Agriculture – Concessionary Loans that give seven percent (7%) per annum interest rates for women in agriculture with Access Bank and Fidelity Bank.

4. SME Tool Kit

  • Digital tools – Providing a professional website at a twenty percent (20%) discount price to Subscribers.
  • Yello Biz – Offering for sale Yello Biz routers to Subscribers with an extra 50GB data for free.
  • Free sign up on the MTN’s business messenger platform with hundred (100) free SMSs.

5. GROW HER Exceptionally                                                                                                                                 

Tailored training programmes on growing a business for Subscribers in informal businesses in various industries or fields in partnership with SME Grow Africa (SMEGA).

ADWUMAPA BUNDLE TERMS

Adwumapa Bundle

  1. Adwumapa Bundle is an offer designed for only natural born WOMEN registered on the MTN network.
  2. The Bundle is available to only prepaid numbers on the MTN Network.
  3. The bundle is EXCLUSIVE TO MTN customers whose gender from SIM registration details is captured as FEMALE.
  4. Every bundle purchased includes 150MB bonus data valid for twenty-four (24) hours from the time of purchase.
  5. Payment for the purchase of the Adwumapa Bundle is via MobileMoney and airtime.
  6. Lifestyle data included in the Adwumapa Bundle can only be used for social media platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram, WeChat and X).
  7. Adwumapa Bundle has weekly (seven (7) days) and monthly (thirty (30) days) validity period from the time of purchase.
  8. Adwumapa Bundle once purchased cannot be reversed or the amount used for purchase refunded.
  9. Free Onnet calls on Mondays from 8am to 5pm for all Subscribers with an Adwumapa Bundle balance.
  10. A Subscriber can purchase the Adwumapa Bundle and decide to opt out of Membership of the Community.
  11. MTN shall subject to the consent from the Subscriber, share Subscriber information with third-party service providers as necessary for the delivery and administration of the Adwumapa Bundle service, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations of the General Data Protection Regulation

Adwumapa Insurance

  1. The insurance cover is offered in partnership with Ayo Intermediaries, with Sanlam Alliance acting as the underwriter.
  2. The insurance component of the weekly Adwumapa Bundle provides coverage solely for the Subscriber’s business against fire, allied risks, and related perils.
  3. Subscribers who purchase the weekly Adwumapa Bundle a minimum of four (4) times within thirty (30) days will qualify for full insurance coverage.
  4. It is the responsibility of the Subscriber to ensure that all personal, beneficiary, and claim-related information provided is complete and accurate.
  5. Approved claims shall be disbursed via MobileMoney to the Subscriber’s registered number.
  6. MTN reserves the right to amend, review, or update these terms and the associated insurance policy at its discretion and without prior notice.
  7. All claims must be submitted through the official channels designated by Ayo Intermediaries. Subscribers are encouraged to follow the prescribed procedures to ensure successful claim processing.

Adwumapa Bundle Community

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be a natural born woman.
  2. Own an identifiable business – show registration details/ AMA certificate etc. (not compulsory).
  3. Buy an Adwumapa Bundle for three (3) consecutive months with a minimum purchase of one hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (GHS 150.00).
  4. Fill an online registration form at Adwumapa Bundle – MTN Ghana on the MTN website.

Membership

  1. Continued membership is based on frequency of bundle purchases by a Subscriber.
  2. The Adwumapa Community is free to join.
  3. Subscribers cannot transfer their Membership of the Community to others.
  4. The Subscriber must notify MTN via mtnbusiness.GH@mtn.com immediately of any change in details submitted on the registration form.
  5. The Subscriber agrees that information submitted, including personal details will be recorded and kept for recordkeeping purposes.
  6. Subscribers to the Adwumapa Community consent to receive promotional SMS about the Community.
  7. Members of the Community will be grouped into tiers depending on their Subscriber spend on Adwumapa Bundles. Attendance for training and events will be based on these groupings. Tier classification shall be determined based on the Subscriber’s total spend within the preceding three (3) months as of the date of assessment, as outlined below:
    Tier 1: A minimum cumulative spend ranging from GHS 150 to GHS 299;
    Tier 2: A cumulative spend ranging from GHS 300 to GHS 449;
    Tier 3: A cumulative spend of GHS 500 or more.
  8. MTN reserves the right to review and adjust tier classifications at any time, without prior notice, in accordance with its internal policies and eligibility criteria.
  9. MTN reserves the right to decide which tier Community members attend a training or event.

Termination of Membership

  1. A Subscribers membership to the Community may be terminated:
    I. By failing to purchase Adwumapa bundles for three (3) consecutive months.
    II. By failing to attend events or training for the Community for a continuous period of six (6) months.
    III. At any time and for whatever cause via email to mtnbusiness.GH@mtn.com giving thirty (30) days’ prior notice.
    IV. MTN reserves the right to terminate at any time and with immediate effect membership of a Subscriber to the Adwumapa Community for reasons associated with fraud, bundle reselling, bundle duplication, failure to comply with terms and conditions or regulatory requirements.

Exclusion Of Liability

  1. MTN will not be liable to any female customer for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of whatever kind, howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with the customers’ application for or use of the Adwumapa Bundle service.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ghana and the courts of Ghana shall have jurisdictions in any matter(s) arising herein.

Amendments

  1. Any amendments to the terms and conditions will be issued by MTN in writing and shall be posted on the MTN website. MTN reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time.
  2. All amendments to the terms and conditions are effective from the time of their postage on the website, except where there are critical amendments of the terms and conditions in which case, Subscribers may also be informed of such changes via email and SMS.
  3. MTN shall not take responsibility for Subscribers’ awareness or lack thereof of any amendment to the terms and conditions once posted on its website.
