DigiFest Game Developer Contest
Build. Showcase. Defend Your Game.
The DigiFest Game Developer Contest is designed to identify, support and recognise emerging game development talent in Ghana.
The contest gives university students and members of Ghana’s game development community an opportunity to showcase original game projects, receive feedback from industry professionals and compete for recognition, prizes and further development opportunities.
Participants will submit their game projects for review, after which selected projects will progress to an in-person audition and defence before a panel of judges.
Who Can Participate?
The contest is open under two categories:
University Category
Open to students from universities and tertiary institutions in Ghana.
Community Category
Open to independent game developers, game development teams, studios and members of game development communities in Ghana.
Participants may compete individually or as a team of up to three (3) members.
Where a project is submitted by a team, the team will be considered one contest entry.

What Will the Judges Look For?
Projects will be assessed across three main areas:
User Interface & User Experience
Judges will consider the visual presentation, navigation, responsiveness, accessibility, consistency and overall player experience.
Code Quality
Evaluation will consider technical implementation, code organisation, performance, stability, maintainability, appropriate use of development tools and evidence of original development work.
Content & Game Experience
Judges will assess the game concept, gameplay, creativity, originality, completeness, relevance to its target audience and potential for future development and commercialisation.
